# APG Google Video Sitemap Feed now better than ever

A few weeks ago we published version 2.0 of our WordPress plugin **[APG Google Video Sitemap Feed](/wordpress-plugins/apg-google-video-sitemap-feed)**. Thanks to this version we solved a problem that had been dragging on since the first version, and it was its inability to manage websites with a large amount of websites.

On websites with tens or hundreds of thousands of videos the plugin generated serious performance problems, so, taking advantage of the change Google implemented in the data structure of the video sitemap, we decided to solve this problem definitively.

To do so we added compatibility with Action Scheduler, including it in the source code of the plugin, thus being able to support the massive management of hundreds of thousands, and even millions of videos without affecting the general performance of WordPress. We also added the pagination of the sitemap every 50,000 videos, the maximum supported by this kind of file, generating as many video sitemaps as were necessary.

The problem is that, in spite of the implementation of this improvement, we had detected an irregular behaviour in some installations that made thousands and thousands of requests be generated for the same videos, which made the database swell to the point of leaving the web server with no physical space in some of them, or generating extremely serious performance problems that ended up completely paralysing the website.

Today at last, and after not a few setbacks, we have been able to provide a solution, we hope a definitive one, to this problem, so now we can already assure you that the sitemap-video.xml file is going to be generated without problems and without it causing any problem in the installation.

Remember that **APG Google Video Sitemap Feed** crawls 100% of your website and adds all the videos you have published from YouTube, Vimeo or Dailymotion to a new virtual file that you will find at the path *https://www.domain.ext/sitemap-video.xml*. After that you only have to add that sitemap to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools so that they gather the information it contains.

If you want to see a working example of this sitemap you only have to look at the one on our own website: [https://artprojectgroup.com/sitemap-video.xml](https://artprojectgroup.com/sitemap-video.xml).

**We hope you like this plugin and find it useful.**
