Art Project Group gives its first training courses

Hecho en Mijas, the business promotion project launched by the Department of Industrial and Commercial Promotion of Mijas Town Council, and Asociación MIBU, a youth association from Mijas operating province-wide which has hundreds of members, are organising a series of training courses on WordPress and WooCommerce in Mijas (Málaga).

Given by APG, the courses will help you learn all the secrets of WordPress, the popular CMS, and of its best e-commerce plugin, WooCommerce.

From its installation and configuration to the creation of plugins, by way of making the most of its SEO capabilities or improving its performance and security, the battery of training courses that has been made available to everyone interested in learning about or improving their knowledge of WordPress and WooCommerce is very interesting.

You do not need to be a resident of, or registered in, Mijas in order to enjoy any of these courses.

APG is Hecho en Mijas

Under the title Hecho en Mijas con las Nuevas Tecnologías, a total of 11 training courses have been launched:

1. WordPress from scratch:
   • A 15-hour course, given over 5 days, which will cover all the needs that WordPress is going to pose when it comes to creating our own website, from its installation and configuration to its integration with social networks, by way of improving security, optimization and SEO, or which plugins to install, how and what for.
   • Price: €20.00.
   • Dates: From 20 to 24 October, from 17:00 to 20:00.
2. WordPress expert level:
   • A 15-hour course, given over 5 days, where we will learn everything from how to create a plugin for WordPress to how to modify a theme or template from its child folder, and from how to configure the wp-config.php file in an advanced way to how to modify the functions.php file of our theme in order to carry out various hacks; we will also learn to create custom post types and to add completely custom fields in our posts.
   • Price: €20.00.
   • Dates: From 27 to 31 October, from 17:00 to 20:00.
3. From WordPress.com to WordPress:
   

   Asociación MIBU

   • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, where we will learn to migrate a blog created under WordPress.com to our own WordPress installation and the fundamental differences that exist between the two.
   • Price: €5.00.
   • Date: 4 November, from 17:00 to 20:00.
4. Introduction to WooCommerce:
   • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, aimed at people who know WordPress and who want to get started with WooCommerce. In it we will get to know all the features exclusive to WooCommerce: Settings, Products, Product categories, Product tags, Orders and Customers.
   • Price: €5.00.
   • Date: 11 November, from 17:00 to 20:00.
5. WooCommerce from scratch:
   • A 15-hour course, given over 5 days, which will cover all the needs that WooCommerce is going to pose when it comes to creating our own online shop, from its installation and configuration to its integration with social networks, by way of improving security, optimization and SEO, or which plugins to install, how and what for.
   • Price: €20.00.
   • Dates: From 17 to 21 November, from 17:00 to 20:00.
6. WooCommerce expert level:

   • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, where we will learn to get the most out of the WordPress configuration and out of some essential plugins in order to considerably improve the ranking of our website. We will also learn all the secrets of the semantic web that WordPress applies.
   • Price: €5.00.
   • Dates: 10 December, from 17:00 to 20:00.
8. SEO in WooCommerce:
   • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, where we will learn to get the most out of the WooCommerce configuration and out of some essential plugins in order to considerably improve the ranking of our online shop. We will also learn all the secrets of the semantic web that WooCommerce applies.
   • Price: €5.00.
   • Dates: 15 December, from 17:00 to 20:00.

9. 

   WordPress/WooCommerce and social networks:

   • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, where we will learn to create, from scratch, a profile and/or page on the main social networks: Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, LinkedIn, Google+, Blogger or WordPress.com, and to link our WordPress with them, so that our publications are shared on each one of them in real time, which will help to improve our organic ranking.
   • Price: €5.00.
   • Date: 16 December, from 17:00 to 20:00.
10. Optimizing WordPress/WooCommerce:
    • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, where we will learn to optimize the performance of our WordPress to the maximum. From how to configure the .htaccess file, set up a cache system and optimize the size of images, to getting to know the factors that make our installation slow down. We will also learn to use various web applications that will allow us to find out how our website performs.
    • Price: €5.00.
    • Date: 22 December, from 17:00 to 20:00.
11. Security in WordPress/WooCommerce:
    • A 3-hour course, given in 1 day, where we will learn to shield our WordPress installation as far as possible. From how to configure a firewall, the .htaccess file or modify the tables of our database, to how to secure access to the administration panel in order to make our WordPress impenetrable.
    • Price: €5.00.
    • Date: 23 December, from 17:00 to 20:00.
