WC - APG City is now practically infallible

After several notifications received reporting problems recorded with WC - APG City, especially in online shops selling outside Spain, mainly Italy and Ireland, we decided to get down to work and turn our plugin for WooCommerce into a practically infallible one so as to try to avoid 100% of the problems reported by our customers and users.

How have we done it?

To begin with we have added the Google Maps API key, since although at first Google Maps returned the queries to us without any kind of limitation, it had started to ask for the API key in order to return any kind of information to the queries we send it from the plugin for WooCommerce.

Once the problem with the Google Maps API had been solved, what we have done is to provide WC - APG City with a double API control, so that, in the event of not receiving the desired information (town and province) in the query made to the selected API, normally GeoNames, and in Spain we recommend this one, it will make a second query to the API that is not selected, normally Google Maps. In the event that the query made to the second API does not return the desired information either, we have added a third control point that will remove the selection field automatically and will show a text field again so that the customer can, in any case, enter their town manually in the same way as they would if WC - APG City were not active and they used the native WooCommerce form.

Lastly we have added a new option in the selection field that makes it possible for the customer to replace the selection field created by the plugin for WooCommerce with a text field so as to be able to enter their town manually just as they would natively in WooCommerce.

Result

Thanks to the introduction of the double API query and to the possibility of removing the selection field in any case, we make sure that on 100% of occasions our customers will be able to enter their town field both in a completely automated way and manually, in the event that their postcode does not exist in either of the two databases.
