The work we did
Digital magazine built on WordPress for CRISTIANDAD, the publication of the Fundación Ramon Orlandis i Despuig. It brings together in one place the digital edition, the subscription to the printed magazine and the publication’s complete back catalogue.
The brief
CRISTIANDAD had two things to solve at once: to go on selling subscriptions to the physical magazine, and to put everything published to date at the reader’s disposal, going back to the trial issue of December 1943. And the second is only any use if it can be found, because an archive that cannot be searched does not get read.
What we did
We built the digital magazine on WordPress and set up the printed edition subscription with WooCommerce, so that signing up as a subscriber is done from the site itself. The archive is the project’s own bespoke development: every issue is kept as a PDF and its contents are built into the magazine’s search, so that one and the same search returns what was published this month and what was published decades ago alike.
The result
A site that sells the subscription and, at the same time, opens the magazine’s complete back catalogue to anybody searching it, without the reader having to know which issue carried what they are looking for.
